报告题目:Griess algebras and vertex algebras

报告摘要:The original Griess algebra is a non-associative commutative algebra so-called the Norton algebra associated with the Monster simple group. Later, it was realized that a slightly modified version of the Griess algebra called the Conway-Griess algebra naturally appears as the degree two subspace of the moonshine vertex algebra constructed by Frenkel-Lepowsky-Meurman and one can associate a commutative algebra structure on the degree two subspace of any vertex algebra of OZ-type which is nowadays called Griess algebras of vertex algebras. In this talk I will explain recent studies of Griess algebras of vertex algebras.

报告人简介: Hiroshi Yamauchi,东京女子大学,副教授。研究方向为moonshine相关的数学。曾获得学术振兴会特别研究员(JSPS PD)。在IMRN, Math Z., Trans. AMS. 等国际著名数学期刊上发表篇文章
